Autumn is here. With it comes grey, foggy days, chill in the air, knits, boots, candles, fire, leaves turning and to start it all, PUMPKINS!
After two years LO is now able to frolics by herself and enjoy whatever is in front of her if she chooses to. As luck would have it one weekend we had all the conditions right. Day off, grey day but not raining, cool but not chilly, awake on time and a farm not to far from us has opened. Hence, our pumpkin patch trip.
We went to Foxes Farm Produce, which is about half an hour away from us. It didn't advertise with any frills at all other than what it is: a Pumpkin Patch. Since we haven't got any plan for the day we decided to put on our wellies and dive in the experience. We were a bit cautious as we are not sure if LO would enjoy. She is not the easiest to impress. She'd rather stay home in her room, play with her toys and nobody is none the wiser. But it would be a first and we were crossing our fingers.
It was fun. I was so glad to have quite a selection to choose from. It was on the expensive side if I'm honest especially when I saw a "giant" pumpkin in the shop for couple of quid. Nonetheless I suppose it is the experience you are paying for. I couldn't really complain because LO enjoyed it as much as I did. She was overwhelmed at first on what to do and she even tried lifting one that is a tad couple of size bigger than her. But she did enjoyed running through the field, never mind if she fell on her face thrice. Be it because of tripping or just flat footed, who knows?
When you have your stash you cannot stay for long though as there is very limited things to do. Aside from the patch itself, there is only a little coffee stall to warm you up. Maybe a couple of picnic table, a haystack to jump and a couple of portable toilets. Go there enjoy the patch, buy your stuff then go. As I said no frills.

I thoroughly enjoyed our trip there especially knowing that LO loved it too. The staff were great and friendly. After her jumping and running around we reckon its time to go and carve. We will definitely go back again next year for this year our autumn has began.
